This new cook book for Molly Baz is a stunning example of typographic, design and layout brilliance. In true VJ-Type style they have crafted every inch of the book - and perhaps the most exciting aspect is the chance to see three of their bespoke fonts in use together. The design supported by some cool quirky illustrations and striking graphic layouts. Worth buying if you like cooking, even better if you love design too.

Designing a new house can be challenging, big decisions like the exterior cladding is one you don't want to get wrong. This choice impacts the overall visual appearance (yep you'll be looking at it everyday), the homes long term durability, level of insulation and importantly how it fits with the surrounding environment.

This choice impacts the overall visual appearance (yep you'll be looking at it everyday), the homes long term durability, level of insulation and importantly how it fits with the surrounding environment. This collection work showcases the subtle variations and nuances exterior design can have on the overall project. This stunning modern farmhouse is situated among vast fields and quiet sheep herds in Belgium. Axel De Bisscop fell in love with the original abandoned 18th-century fort and adjoining farm in 2012 when it came up for sale. He began ambitious plans to convert it into a private residence, and a five-room bread and breakfast. Architecture firm Govaert & Vanhoutte were hired to renovate the two principal brick buildings – a farmhouse and a barn, which had once been the fort’s watch house and jail. This was meticulously re-crafted using a sequence of slatted timber screens, glass walkways and brick cladding.
Interior designer Kristof Goossens went to work with the buildings’ lofty interiors of concrete, timber and stone with deeply set grey sofas, thick-piled rugs and wire chairs. At the heart of the building is a sleek black powder-coated steel kitchen specified by Vipp. The owners also worked closely with the kitchen specialists on the lamps and a sophisticated rack system, which can be seen throughout the residence.
The development also has an incredible underground addition. With Belgium’s cold winters in mind, a tunnel was dug to connect to the lap-pool and infra-red sauna. In true farmhouse style many of the original stone bunkers (built around the First World War) encircling the grounds now house chickens, sheep and bees which supply the dining table with honey and eggs.

As many of you will know I've been a huge fan of Violaine & Jérémy and their dedication to typography and font design. I follow their work with a sense of excitement because whenever they release something new it's usually amazing. The new typeface Voyage is no exception, it's bespoke and highly crafted. The letterforms will grace any project.
Voyage was designed in 2019 in Paris by Jérémy Schneider. It's both romantic and curvy and fantastic for creative headlines or short text. Voyage features delicate hairlines for maximum contrasts and has over 55 stylistic ligatures, 26 variants, which are in open-type format. This means you can decide which glyph to alternate.
I hope you enjoy discovering it as much as I did. You can test drive and buy the font from the link below - make sure you support their work as there's not many designers who can deliver what these two do.

]]>For a while I've been wanting to showcase the full alphabet set of the new Love typeface. As mentioned in a previous post the font was designed in 2018 in Paris by Jérémy Schneider - the typeface is a beautiful blend of contrasting elements, characterised by its big counter-forms and thin stems. Take a look at all the font forms below, both light and dark backgrounds have been included. Perhaps some of the most exciting parts exist in the special characters, the '@' symbol and '&' are superb and worth checking out.
