Tribeca Film Festival Branding | By Collins

Design and branding agency Collins were given the task to create distinctive new look for the Tribeca Film Festive. The Festival needed a strong visual identity system that would assist filmmakers in reaching the broadest possible audience. It needed to enable the international film community and general public to experience the power of cinema, and promote New York City as a major filmmaking center.

The underpinning strategic direction was to highlight the idea of “rallying together.” The festival was the result of a unique equation: a neighborhood, an art form and an event. The resulting solution was a typographic mark that uses a shared “i” in each word, it's exaggerated to help create the 'rallying cry'. Color was also a huge part of the system, adding vibrancy, a sense of joy, motion, and energy.

It’s a brilliant collection of work, and the design layouts show a masterful approach to both illustration and typography.

Creative agency Violaine & Jérémy have once again impressed us with some bold new branding for Mamie restaurant. The new Paris establishment is run by Jean Imbert and his inspirational Grandmother (who we suspect is responsible for his passion in food). The approach is done in the V&J signature style, where the typography takes a lead role in styling the overall design. The concept is supported by a range of full colour vintage illustrations, which depict hand drawn organic vegetables and ingredients.

Photography Book Cover Design
Photography Book Cover Design

by Andrew Smith April 26, 2019

Every now and then I find some great photography book cover design ideas, this little gem was one I recently found. It definitely makes me happy seeing things that have life after the internet. Books that make you want to read and enjoy right before bed. Seeing these projects helps inspire me to take more photos, and then actually do something with them. To often they end up just sitting on our hard drives or tucked safely away in on our cloud storage - never to be seen again.
